Admitted 2000 – Michelle is recognised as a specialist in family work and is regarded for her abilities in handling cases with an holistic approach; factoring in the client’s personal, financial and legal needs. She is a Resolution Accredited specialist in Advanced financial provision and Children Matters. Michelle has a wide experience of the whole spectrum of family assets on divorce/ civil partnership and non marital relationships ranging from modest to high net work cases, often with an international and complex jurisdiction dimension. Michelle’s portfolio of cases include emergency applications including freezing injunctions and enforcement orders to include financial provision following a foreign divorce.
She has represented clients seeking to make a claim against the estate of a loved one or family member under the Inheritance ( Provision for Families and dependants) Act 1975 and other beneficiary disputes.
Michelle has extensive experience in drafting and advising upon pre nuptial and pre civil registration agreements protecting a party’s assets before the event.
Where there are children, Michelle has particular experience in representing clients in complex children cases in private law proceedings, international relocation/leave to remove cases and Schedule 1 Children Act claims.
Whilst Michelle is experienced in litigation, she has a particular interest in alternatives to court and trying to resolve family disputes using a conciliatory approach and is a practicing Collaborative Lawyer. Michelle is committed to ensuring clients have a choice of which process they choose to embark on and is involved in raising the public profile of this growing area and new approaches to alternative dispute resolution in family cases. She sits on the London Umbrella Group of collaborative lawyers and is a member of the City of London Group and the Collaborative Partners practice group. Michelle is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative professionals ( IACP).
